    23-11-07 | S-MAX LOVEBOMBING EP on KARLOFF

LATEST RELEASE BY BOOGIZMARTIST IS S-MAX' LOVEBOMBING EP ON KARLOFF- OUT NOW! HERE'S SOME FEEDBACKS-Max: Lovebombing (Karloff)The recent release by Peter Grummich and now S-Max’s ‘Lovebombing’ mean that Karloff is overshadowing its parent label, Sub-Static. This four-tracker is worthy of praise because it applies a cut-up, noisenik 90s attitude and the swing of Chicago to minimal’s hollow drums and glitchy percussion. Add in a Landstrumm-meets-dubstep bass wobble and it’s clear that S-Max has four dance floor bombs on his hands.4/5 (DJ-MAG U.K.)De:Bug (GER): “Und schon wieder eine brilliante Karloff Platte. Extrem flüssige und vor allem magisch verruchte Platte mit mächtigem Funk. www.karloff.org bleed”Karotte (Cocoon): “a2 ist mein track für die späten stunden. gute nummer.”Mathias Kaden (Freude am Tanze: “ i really like the record from S-Max....i prefer the mix of old house sounds with a little touch of dirty grooves..... my favourites are A2 and B1 i´ll play it for sure..... ”Mike Shannon (Cynosure): “S-max always delivers his signature FM brand of Funk...timeless Always inspirational for me and most definitely one of Germany's best producers. ”

  • About

this wiesbaden/ offenbach based recordlabel is operated by manfred "s-max" koridass (superbleep-fame) and manutchehr ghassemlou (fym).
these two form a sonic alliance of scientific precision ready to improve the quality of this planet in general, lighten up your day and to show their ability to ensure effective pressurisation is maintained at any given time...
with boogizm they present their definition of danceable techno/ housemusic which is not limited by concepts as "minimal", "functional", "laptop-blah-blah "...
structures representing individual definitions as well as the code of "housemusic" are deconstructed or really fucked around with temporarily, then sorted again - so everything falls into it´s place. important issues are freaky-future-funk , high-resolution therapeutics and smart assaults on listening habits and expectations...
s-max has released several e.p.s, on below, defect, 7th city, semi-automatic (...), made remixes for ectomorph etc. he is deejaying since 1991 and was founder of the superbleep dj-team (together with don disco/losoul).
fym played drums/ sang in several hardcorebands (crux, holly golightly...) and was co-founder of the kix-collective, released on 7th city, hal9000, telegraph, semi-automatic, red antenna, electr.hund and several e.p.s on kix-recordings. he plays live-pa´s with fyms strictly homemade soundsystem.

    boo 014 | s-max | e.p.

o.k., this time it's" dance, you party people!"s-max (one half of the boogizm-crew) did an ep with an eye on the floor and MIKE SHANNON joined in to remix. do we have to introduce him? he runs the labels cynosure and revolver, did numerous eps on labels like logistic and wagon repair and got some more attention thru his album "possible conclusions to stories that never end" released on ~scape some months ago. both deliver hi-quality dancemusic which won't loose it's magic in years to come...a side features MIKE SHANNONs remix, that's the first time getting any boogizm-signal on 45 rpm, this interpretation showing his personal strength of gaining danceablity with a personal, funky approach, here quite harmonious, detroity and ready to rock, building up tension slowly and gradually... the b-side is s-max's tracks on 33 giving another example of his boogist approach to contemporary clubmusic without losing track of freedom and tradition. "taoist afro sputniks" features a heavy, bouncey bassline funkin' it's way along detroity chords and beats knowing early acid tracks, yet working right here and now. "inner nothingness" rolls quite deep and dubby, rather minimalist and somewhat darker, yet funky and bleepy- digging and restoring neuronal crossings long forgotten...ep ends with first locked groove since BGZM 03! and on and on and on...

    god's will phone center

    boo 013 | dB | e.p.

this time boogizm is proud to present the extraordinary skills of daniel bemberger aka dB from vienna, who has already established his reputation as one of the most original minimal producers around. in the past he has released several eps on labels as karloff, substatic and background, his work culminating in his superb album "peron" on background.his style has no comparison in contemporary dance music - fragmented, jazzy, moody, yet groovy and functional, and most of all, unique!

the ep starts with "tower of love", guitarlike sounds and rhodes chords add up to an allembracing warmth manifested in a multilayered structure telling a story of beauty in rhythm. "god's will phone center" catches the listener somewhere else, a tip more to the darkside, yet another manifestation of dBs talent, creating an emotional intensity, the much stressed word "deepness" does fit in here!
the b-side features remixes by dhammabrothers boogizm-crew itself starting with s-max interpretation of "god's will phone center" and fym reworking "tower of love".of course they present a funked up amalgamation of the original ingredients, danceability is worked on following the parameters of boogizm style. archieving floorburn-qualities is done speaking special fym/ s-max language.

    get on / off crazy

    boo 012 | s-max / fym | e.p.

this 12" being a new ep produced by labelowners s-max and fym, once again featuring the "classic split ep" format, both showing their extraordinary skills and individual freedom of musical rules.

the ep starts with s-max' "jackin' box energy", stomping, banging and detroity- a colourful and emotional journey into deeply hidden layers of the unconscious. this one definitely made to make you jack to the groove. after industrial interlude the classic electro-beat driven "charlie don't surf" ventures into even deeper levels of mental surgery, ready to cleanse the dirt of everyday activity from our spoiled and deluded minds. funked up bass gets accompanied by assorted fine ingredients producing a subtle burner.
fym's side explores the beauty of the twisted, the unheard. after beautiful little guitarsong enters "move your feet", being a deep, housey slo-mo monster- positively individual-fym-language. chords, deep basslines, joyful little melodies appear and blend into the whole again. everchanging, unfolding, yet made to "move your feet". bang bang. "i feel right like (having a party tonight)" features bossanova guitarlines, chopped up funky old school drumsounds, high pitched vocals and all kind of short-appearance-guests adding audiospices to archieve the superb quality of fym's hi-tek electronics.

    boo 011 | e.p.

ew solo-artist e.p. by one half of boogizm s-max , whos "make somebody happy e.p." has been released right now on the well-respected french telegraph imprint, shows some other aspects of his donkey-doodle-disco skills. here he sings and whispers along his beats'n basslines, creating hi-tek house of a solid, bumpin' yet unorthodox beauty. everything is possible under the sun, change is the only constant!
we're welcomed by a surprising sleaziness, increased temperature-rising floorfiller-factor included- funked up bassline, s-max whispering, screeching digits & housey (whatever that means to you) and more sweaty than ever! after dopebeat-skeme everything is reduced, sonic ambush of a gentle kind catches rays of love, shining bright from the centre of your existence.flipside, warm and even more housey with s-max singing and a decent moodyness unfolding into realms of undisturbed peace and harmony. slo-mo motorcity-soul deepens inner purification and bangs alike! destroy all concepts, erase all mental data and see things barely, directly, realizing their naked presence, experiencing their inherent qualities to enlighten what's taken as you and purify your mind!
another step towards unspoiled truth of heart in the field of house- again the sonic alliance of boogizm delivers hi-quality clubmusic for those, who are receptive to signals of a less familiar tone, while maintaining gourmet-niveau danceability. funk accompanies every step of our brave comrades on their path to liberation of all minds to be found.remember- sooner or later everything falls apart, including you and me!

all tracks are funkatized with strange quirks and deep moodyness, armed with bleeps `n`soul. take another deep dip into these particular styles and travel with us along in outer boogizm-space.

this golden and festive tenth release on boogizm ventures further into the non-cliché, personal and modern while maintaining danceablility.

    boo 009 | e.p.

first solo-artist ep by aspiring artist paradroid, who has already contributed the title "gauss rifle jam" to various artists' bgzm 006 release. right now his first album is being released on plateaux resistance (formerly known as mille plateaux) and another ep on seattle-based orac label. here on his pals' label he presents some more shiny little pearls of his extraordinary way of clicky, funked up, hi-tek minimal-tech-house. non-clichee bitcrush adventures, soundscape-ish, a stream of crystalline details progressing into unknown and unheard beauty.

ep starts with s-max' remix, being the kinda housey-est interpretation. funky bassline, detroity chords, vocals whispered by s-max himself and some more of those wellknown personal ingredients add up to a well-balanced personal blend of nowadays dance-music, ready to burn floors all over the place. fym's remix gets it slightly more twisted, features a driving bassline, stomping and narrative alike, hands-in-the-air-chords fall into place somewhat slightly differently, creating a moody dancetrack, manifested to rock! -all speaking special-fym-language.

flipside (not being the flipside) features the artists original tracks, here things get more ethereal, shattered fragments of all kinds dance their way along upon slimline beats, dissected basslines and hovering chords. condensed atmosphere, familiar warmth of places, we haven't visited yet...

another step towards unspoiled truth of heart in the field of house- again the sonic alliance of boogizm delivers hi-quality clubmusic for those, who are receptive to signals of a less familiar tone, while maintaining gourmet-niveau danceability. funk accompanies every step of our brave comrades on their path to liberation of all minds to be found

this is s-max' first solo-artist ep on his and his pal fym's imprint, accompanied by his "resistance is futile ep" on over-x being released now, this is a 4-tracker showing his personal definitions of contemporary house/detroity-minimal-whatever... music!

loaded with his good-acid-trip-cartoon-style, armed with bleep'n'bassline-funk+bitcrush-soul, here we go deeper into that boogizm-space, ranging from moodyouterworldliness to "kick-it!"-disco.

ep starts with smooth clicky intro, followed by "wow! introspection",banging, bending bassline talking with swirling chords makin' it a full-onmindexpanding floorfiller.

"braincell harvester" is detroity-moody, diggin' deep under your emotionalcarpet, kitsch is spelled backwards.

flipside goes housey first, "down with the physical"-slo-mo disco catchingthe astro-fish, non-conformity-funk wobbling it's way to the floor.interlude with hiphop-flava/ smax'voice crawling thru your earjuice-help meout of this fucked-up-ness!

"anarchy barbie" rolls down your spine slow and gentle, crunchy subsonickicks out listening habits, solid groove wanders off temporarily, returnsstrong!

eighth release on boogizm ventures further into the non-cliché- personal, modern, while maintaining danceablility first class. one half ofboogizm-crew delivers sonic guerilla tactics, erasing mediocreboredom-keeping it playful and free.
"further proof that club techno with soul is not yet an extinct artform"with collaborations with daniel bell/ jay haze/ ark/ db the boys widen theirfield of operation, definitely funkatizing your world!

    emotions under curfew

    boo 007 | e.p.

boogizm's latest goes different ways in format and style. preceded by his album on telegraph, fym delivers another pop-shock sure-shot, and this is the first solo artist ep on the label.

audiosupport is coming from the city of love and bonky funkwar-twisters. it's the magnificent talent of ARK, manipulating fym's vocals in his very own blockbuster-stylee.

on the a-side fym gets right into it with "moonshine dolphin" and "pigeonfleet ambassador", together with some interludes, of course! discodancers will be delighted by the smooth deepness unfolding here with surprizing bitcrush-beauty. housey chords exploring emotionality the unorthodox way, organization of sounds is unique and information observes itself unfolding.

the ARK-remix of "grace" on the b-side hits the edge of bassline-rock. fym's vocals get bended and blended with those other ARK ingredients, all funking their way to syndromize the planet's floors.

fym's original tells another story, navigating through colourful terrain of chords, hi-freq buzzes and migrating basslines-all wobbly, bouncing and defying categorization.

this seventh release on boogizm reinforces it's special status amongst the protagonists of nowadays funky-donkey-"minimal"-house-scene. ARK is the first non-german member of the global family to contribute, soon to be followed by daniel bell on s-max' ep/ boo 008.

as fym says "all are my friends, no-one is my enemy"...

the sixth boogizm-release surprizingly features rotorik, paradroid, bob renfoerd, s-max and fym, artists of different size and colour- all capable of creating unique rubbertechstyledisco, adding new sonic spices and hot ingredients to that special boogizmflavour- dancefloors will flicker in plastic-sandwich-outbursts. UFOs will position sonic-sensors to prove that an appropriate degree of effort has been expended.

our new artist "paradroid" opens the peaceful battle with a quirky "gauss rifle jam", penetrating jellyfish areas enriched with elements of bouncee bubbles.

second competitor is "rotorik", known for his various releases,i.e. on cristian vogel's classic mosquito imprint. with "lakinetics",seriousness walks silly, somewhere deep down behind the dark corner of our sofa, massive yet groovee-boulderdash for the ear!

"bob renfoerd" debuts with electrostyle "my acid friendship duck"ploinky-acidic, everchanging, strangeness incorporating marmite deluxe sandwiches and papaya smell crystal foam clusters.

flipside features labelowners and dhamma-mates "fym" and "s-max". preceded by stumbling dsp-orgee "miamy vised" a tune reminding of flamigoes and famous policehero tubbs: your father had a cop shot to death in new york city...and that cop was my brother!!

with "monkey came from man" fym launches another vivid-vocal and chordcrazed electric-extravaganza, this one of revealing deepness-love'n' digits including bassblaster-walks in the muticolour garden of unresting soul. its dense...its kool aid!

s-max's counterstrike combines typical naturalistic stutter-attack"systemic dhamma skillz" intro with main missile "shaolin oink oink",brainwash-shuffles, of course, lo-freq-bending along ethereal stringzhead towards martian sunsets rendered in thermoblast-colour.this time the boogizm-universe opens up to welcome new aspects offunkynesses beyond those stereotypes they don't condemn, but like to conquer.

new members of the sonic-guerilla-family join in the sweetchant of independence and work for unconditional love and true liberation from all that worldly suffering.

walk the bridge to cozmic age

    boo 005 | e.p.

the fifth boogizm release, actually once again a fym/s-max split e.p., brings you some more marvellous examples of unique folksong-electro-talent.

it's charged with some extra- mystical moments of 800-bit love, subsonic-mindexpanding research and r2d2-hugging-funk,which is restructured while exploring unknown disco-dancing-territories. hi-quality boogizm ingredients are added to satisfy highest demands.

s-max spreads the wings of compassionate love and welcomes you with a warm, yet darkstar-esk teaser followed by "xeroxed astro-monkeys". he combines neo- lawnmower-shuffles with funked-up chords and subsonic manoeuvres creating a streamlined toygun-experience. after lullaby-style interlude, "cart-display error" shows some new ways of electro-ghetto-tech. crystals twinkle while lofreq-wobble goes bezerk (and returns to surface).

fym contributes an amazingly vivid and everchanging arcade-meets-singing-intro followed by"pitch black fork", another quirky bouncee whoo-whoo-assault rubberbender ready to burn modern floors, armed with bleepy funk and elephantine bassmadness. "universal milky way" is another proof of his unique barefoot-opera-singing skills embedded in titanium-equanimity-dubs and crunchy bass-terror...

enter the next level. with this hint on growth-increasing selfawareness we witness unheard possibilities of contemporary dancemusic, sonic guerilla sciences and space invader techniques. let your neurons bounce and shake your booty to this android mannequin music!

    bingo bubble burner

    boo 004 | e.p.

the fourth boogizm-release, surprisingly a split e.p. by dhammabros s-max and fym features four new tracks plus interludes and lots of loops filled with those special boogie-ingredients made to last.

funk is performed with precision and love for daisies, shuffled beats and ape-basslines. fym opens emotionally with his ice-melting balladesque "servo membran" continues romantic-casual with "loving trumpets". he bangs your pineal gland gently to enlightenment with ease. legobassline deluxe in crystal-shaped terror friendship bleep style.

s-max shines bright with classic folk intro followed by "neutralized spinach" getting you breakin' on da floor. bloing. housey in it's own rights, this merges jazzy moodiness with quirky hi-tech pizza. After some ganga-adventures at 6 a.m. we proceed to the somewhat harder tech-style-opera of "sweet antidote", moving straight towards our fantasy pony.

once again this disco-dhamma-duo delivers quality-cake full of binary shake-yer-hips-raisins giving off this radiance of love and belly-button-cleansing, this species needs so desperately. boogie-oogie!

    nuke that level

    boo 003 | e.p.

s-max launches some moody techhousebeauties with sonicbacteria-like elements swirling through some happy fanatic basslines...a calm state of mind lurks from beyond ignorance: star wars goes banana.

meanwhile on the flipside fym is singing his way through romantic universes of cuddly fibreglass capsules and creates syncopated techstyle-funk for a better elvis.

and please don't call it independent-trance!

    streetlevel surrealizm

    boo 002 | e.p.

this boogizm release is again a 4 track split e.p. by fym and s-max with a certain tendency towards more banging tek-house trackscharged with sexy sarcasm and fresh non-conformity- funk to twist and rock you relentlessly...

    funkatizing galaxies

    boo 001 | e.p.

this first boogizm release is a split 4 track-e.p. by fym and s-max that features on every side 2 tracks plus some loops (locked grooves) of each of them respectively.

kinda funky hi-tek house with heavy basslines (essential), bleeps, lots of details and changes- somewhere between chicago, detroit, cologne, milky way, frogger...and fragmented brain.

we really liked the dog licking buddha face label...

  • boo 015 | ASTRO HARD BOP EP skinny.co.uk REVIEW

In case you haven’t heard of Boogizm, they are one of the most refreshing, challenging and truly unique minimal labels to come out of Germany in years. They don’t do big riffs, or try to deliver anthems in the hope of quick recognition. Instead they have quietly mastered the art of delicate, hi-tech minimal funk within a genre that has few truly unique labels. The key track is Sonic toygun bending; a superb piece of micro dancefloor funk, held together by expertly applied FX and edits. The other highlight is All That indoor Bbquing, an odd but soulful minimal house cut, complete with swinging plastic drums and sci-fi pads. It's grade A stuff from a seriously under rated and hard to find label; a great find if you're into Vogel, Perlon and other quality bleep/house minimalism. [Steve Glencross]

S-MAX - Free Your Monkeymind E.P. (Mike Shannon Mix)
The excellent S-Max enlists ringer Mike Shannon who's previous form ensures no introduction is necessary. Shannon buts sup the a side, kicking it with Badarou inflected old school moves and houseing it up for the 007, idiosyncratic, funky - play it out and proud. "Taoist afro sputniks" is most certainly a good outside bet for title of the week, and that bassline could well be murking a few sound systems countrywide this weekend - filthy stuff.

    boo 013 | dB | god's will phone center e.p.

    BOOMKAT

dB is Daniel Bemberger from Vienna, a city long renowned for brilliant and interesting minimal music - Cheap , Pulsinger etc..). This dB release is no different and sports fine and strange noises with plenty of depth and atmosphere. The opening track on the A side 'Tower of Love' is stunning wierd minimal techno music for grooving. 'God's Will phone Centre' is a track meandering through all kinds of different little soundscapes utilising a solid underpinning groove that holds the whole thing down . s-max does the business on his remix of God's Will Phone Centre - probably the highlight of the 12" with a more danceable spin placed on the groovy sounds sent from dB. fym gets even groovier on the second flipside track with his remix of 'Tower of Love' - all deep, wiggly and down low. Boogizm is one of our favourite minimal labels historically, usually original and interesting takes on dance music, with a bravura splash of excitement not normally found on more dogged imprints. As ever with the Boogizm crew - we like, very much.

    MINLOVE.NET

db's debut on Wiesbaden's Boogizm imprint was already released in June, but it's worth a brief review and a closer listen. With „God's Will Phone Center“ the Vienna based artist continues a series of fabulous and unfailingly subtle 12" releases and delivers an infatuating aesthetic quality that has made his compositions and sounds so unique and unmistakeable. The b-side includes two delicately twisted and bubbling remixes by S-Max and Fym of Boogizms fame. The a-side comes along in this typical db manner, combining the ease of lightweight arrangements with emotional depth and brisk grooves as well as understated almost swampy textures. The remake of the title track is filling the headspace with a full serving of housy funk and quirky turns that 'll make you smile - an authentic S-Max - true to form.Fym's remix of „Tower Of Love“ slows down the tempo a bit and creates a winsome groove of melodic pops and buzzing bass sounds while quoting from the warm melodix base of the original in a decent and creative way. Recommended.

S-Max / Fym - Get On Off Crazy Ep (Boogizm)

With „Get On / Off Crazy“ Boogizm co-founders S-Max and Fym are returning with a freaked out yet subtle split EP that proves once again their versatility and ability to create highly sophisticated and experimental explorations of common minimal house/techno patterns. The title itself already underlines the direction, so let's follow the boogizm crew on their long-term mission to create a truly inspired and unique sound that rocks out and shakes like crazy...Heavy bass lines, subtle grooves and rhythmical structures, quirky vocal sampling and the particular Boogizm off-beat are the essential ingredients to make a real delicious meal and to invoke a childish smile on your face. Overall an outstanding 12" of inspiring deep and soul with bags of personality and character. The wait has definitely been worth it.

fym - horseraddish mikado EP (boogizm)

Paradroid - Gemstone Index EP (Boogizm)

S-Max - I Love My Camouflaged Consumerizm EP

Paradroid, Rotorik, Bob Renfoerd, Fym, S-Max - Shaolin Toothpaste EP

Jump up and celebrate, a new Boogizm is in the house!! One of our favourite labels drops the Shaolin Toothpaste ep, and its by the ultra talented and funked up Fym and S-Max plus allies... With almost a mini-lp’s worth of work (6 tracks, and a few little interludes) its a steal, especially seeing as the tunes are just so damn original and killer! Opening with "Gauss Rifle Jam" a straight up jack track with wild sub bass notes flowing with the kicks and squeaks, cowbells galore and a serious sense of fun are all embedded in the groove which leads to a watery funk jam of a track, ace!! Also check the broken beat action of "My Acid Friendship Duck", breakbeats collide with acid lines and randomized samples to hit off a cool groove that’s a tad understated in comparison to their usual style. Flip to find the massive "Shaolin Oink" a driving techy number with a club siren effect that keeps the acid in check and the crazy percusssion in the groove, it doesn’t get much more dancefloor spannered than this, tip!!

Grosse Platte. Ach, mehr als das. bleed •••••

Fym/S-Max-Walk The Bridge To Cozmic Age EP
AW

erm... forgot where i found this one...

Finding great favour in these parts with their deranged sound ever since word go, the boogizm boys are back. The sounds of xerox machines mating feverishly, some cool updating of the kind of superfat electronic funk Christian Vogel has made almost his own since the mid (mad) nineties, all with that distinctive Boogizm twist, whooping noises and gut wrenching basslines. Further insanity comes courtesy of their own, now trademarked brand of short interludes, laden with sound effects and bizarre beat constructions. Bob on again, there's really no stopping these guys.

Bwwoooyyyyy. Eight tracks wide, four absolute corkers, four interludes stroke brief respites from the absolute, unadulterated mayhem on this damaging, debilitating, h-bomb of a twelve. ‘Bongo Bunny’ immediately sets us off guard, all chimes and minor sweetness, afore ‘Servo Membran’ sets the phasers to stun, extrafat bass, ruffing drums prepare us only slightly for the mother of acid lines – altering the phaser setting to obliterate with a flick of the wrist. DEADLY and we only on track one. Again the brief respite on ‘Luck Sucks’ gives way to some magical refinement on ‘Loving Trumpets’, mental noises and a compulsive, fractured, cut up pummeling beat spelling dancefloor madness. Fym side, dix points. S-max picks up the baton, caressing the brows with deepest subbass on ‘Body Pretty Fragile’, then we’re off again. S-Max shows us his heels with ‘Neutralized Spinach’, chattering robotic minah birds pave the way for more funked up acid in an 02 style, ruffage in the rudest health. ‘ Sweet Antidote’ marries whooping goodtimes with twisted subs and mangled acid tweets. Boogizm twelves are like public holidays, they only drop once in a while, but when they do, you always want more. IMMENSE RECORD.

Kickt endlos. bleed •••••

Those of you after the spannered electroid stuff look no further. Fym and s-Max strike again with their second outing on the excellently titled Boogizm label. The opening salvo of -Pemayangtse- paralysing the groove with a shocking reflection of half electro spasms and half micro beats. Hard to compare this to anything, but the chops and shuffles are devestating. -Please Wake me for Meals- shocks on in style - MMM fans would do well to blast this at bass shake levels. Killer stuff. Fym-s -Better Elvis- on the flip attaches itself to the 4/4 more tightly, a warehouse slice of tweaked late night-isms and neon sounds, before the awesome -Magnum Boy Ildp- gets some vocalised intrusions making this sound like the bastard son of the awesome Super-collider and Daft Punk. Awesome shit from start to finish.

JD

Don't know much about this one, except that the bizarrely titled "Lovely Lie Detector" is worth hunting down.An exercise in subtle, forward-thinking dance music in the Detroit vein, this blends quirky electronic pulse and otherwordly machine-generated melodies to create something unique but totally danceable. Simultaneously funky, atmospheric and futuristic, this reminds me of Kenny Larkin's best productions. Further proof that club techno with soul is not yet an extinct artform.

    airfunk radio

    ???

Rhythmically reminiscent of the mighty Nervous Track from the Masters at Work, similarly difficult to mix, but absolutely slamming riddim, with a bass line like a swarm of particularly angry giant wasps snagged in a honey pot. Lovely lie detector reprises the unsettling bass noise from their killing first release, with some Martian vibes. Some very innovative stuff here and no mistaking.

Impressively ill four track debut on the excellently titled Boogizm label, will most definitely funkatize your world, with deceptively mellow Rhodes sitting on top of a juddering broken beats styled four square to the floor rhythm. The ep as a whole shows people capable of picking up the Irdial angle on fucked-up dance music and giving it a fresh spin.

7th city 20 | seismic stealth smurfz e.p.

The Boogizm boys get a free holiday to Dan Bell’s detroit based Seventh City label to showcase even more twisted house beauties. These four tracks appear to be a little more direct than before, meaning sparser and more detroit rather then the insane Irdial down the disco funk they deliver on Boogizm. 'Push Me Panther' in particular rocks with vinyl flaw streaks and abstract funk locked onto a grinding 4/4 beat. Then 'Bloom' - a trip through micro funk house and an assortment of spanners in the toolbox fighting each other, killer.

    debug

    BOOGIZM PUMP IT UP!

¿A qué suenan?

We not only lived with pop. As of certain hours the body of requests more energy, or rather subjects of those direct ones that they make you put the body to tone with a good dance. It seems that after the saturation that we have had these last months with Akufen now the time arrives from which those artists arise all who were in same the camino.Nosotros we have fallen in love with the people of Boogizm, or what is the same of Manfred "S-Max" Koridass and Manutchehr "Fym" Ghassemlou. It is a German seal not to vary in which until now only they they have capacity. Techno wants mostranos their vision of music/house over labels like minimal. They distribute each one one of the the 5 faces of Eps that have published - funkatizing galaxies, streetlevel surrealizm, nuke that level, bingo bubble burner, walk the bridge to cozmic age- in which they demonstrate that the No-Future style follows fashionable with micro-loops and winks to funk the sea of agradecidos.S-Max formed pair like DJ next to Don Disco/LoSoul in 1991 whereas Fym has last hardcore. To what they sound? Because it watches in mp3's that we have renewed.
    We are in everything.

dj-style ranges from house (moodymann/ jovonn/ nugroove), minimal (dbx/ todd sines),crispy+funky (herbert/ ark/ perlon/ akufen/ morgan geist) and (funky-)techno ala cristian vogel, neil landstrumm, claude young) to electro (drexciya/ ectomorph)-depending on location and individual situation-other styles possible, too-all kinds of mostly contemporary afro-american music like hiphop, disco, jazz, dub...generally influenced by classic detroit-techno/ chicago-house/ early warp-records, the whole brighton-stuff, and by everything experienced by him of course...

s-max is running boogizm-records together with manutchehr "fym" ghassemlou since mid of 2000.

    fym

combining tradition without being nostalgic and modern influences without risking the true monkey stylez, fym encompasses those traits which best portray idiotizm itself: passion, culture, diversity, history, algebra, biology and most importantly irresistible dance rhythms.

the depth of timbral variation that is archieved is quite fantastic and the effects are unlike any other sound. his music creates a vibe that compels both: mind and body.

his work is almost abstract but usually has a twist... it has a fantasy feel, it has a destination or drift that people sense but they don't quite know why, where or when.

several successful concerts and records prove that his work is receiving the attention it deserves. his style is appreciated by the young and old. he has been involved in music for over 15 years playing real real analouge stuff like bassguitar and drums...

on stage, accompanied by his long time live support diane, fym tends to explore and expand on his music with extended solos and impromptu chorus/shout sections plus his nice dreamy singing action that excite and charm both: listeners and dancers.

    paradroid

born by his mechanical mother heidi wl-5 as maximilian wendling, paradroid is digitally yours since 1971. he absolved trainee lessons in matchbox car driving and 24 hour non-stop quartet playing as well as space pilot training including 3 D fractal error frequency listening - a performance finding it´s prophecy in searching for the aural jesus. in 1995 he sold his matchy 500 drivers license and started a career as sonic cowboy penetrating the eustachian tubes of mankind in partnership with two technics 1210 and a mixing console.

since then he was DJing various styles of electronic music in several clubs in germany like basement (wiesbaden), fusion-club (münster), space-place (frankfurt), palazzo (bingen), u 60311 bar (frankfurt), nomono (wiesbaden), groove city (mainz), wartburg (wiesbaden), c/o bar (wiesbaden), quadrat (giessen), rotor-club (chiemsee), radio hr-xxl (frankfurt), radio-x (frankfurt) and other places. in 2002 he started producing music supported by digital warfare and heavy DSP armament. paradroid music - of course; doesn´t pretend to be as valuable as a ming dynasty vase.

compared to vases however (woolworth or ming doesn´t matter in this case) it shows one tiny but significant difference: it can bounce without being destroyed. But as a friend of  noble porcelain he allows himself porsche-911-behaviour without any bashfulness or embarrassment. nevertheless his music also invites semi-professional bananastate-listeners to do whatever they want to do with it. as you can see... this is a serious mission !!!

    bob renfoerd

for some years, bob has been reinventing the dsp ensembles in general to incorporate his explorations into traditional as well as nontraditional musics.

the limits of the nu skool somethings are once again well explored. as with the seminal "mystic island string quartet", where renfoerds inventiveness helped to radically alter repertoire and technique bobs appearance on the boogizm imprint has pushed the frontiers of whateverness a bit further.
